Reason of doing this work lies In the process of thinking about spirituality and the role of the church in my private life and also the role that it plays in the context of the whole Poland. I decided to do the apostasy, that is an institutionalized way of leaving the catholic church. The process of leaving lies in the two parallel worlds. The world of institution but also the world of spirit. Person that leaves does it in the face of its own conscious and concept of spirituality but also in consideration of other members of the church and the institution itself. Traditionally in Poland during the baptisms, family and friends meetings are organized. It is a way to celebrate the entrance to the community. I decided to organize the ritual of “farewell”. Video shows a group of people that cross the river and spend time together near the fire. This meeting was a symbolical farewell with the catholic community but also a pretext to gather statements of the people that were present. Film rise the discussion about the spiritual and political role of catholic church in Poland.
